50 Jahre sind seit dem Release ihres Klassikers «An Invisible World Revealed» vergangen. Jetzt sind Krokodil mit einem Studioalbum voller neuer Songs und einem aufgefrischten Line Up wieder am Start. Seit 2020 besteht die progressive Rockband aus Zürich aus den Gründungsmitgliedern Düde Dürst (Drums, Vocal), Terry Stevens (Bass, Vocal) und den beiden Neuzuzügern Adrian Weyermann (Gitarre, Vocal) und Erich Strebel (Keyboards, Vocal). Immer dann, wenn es seine Gesundheit zulässt, begleitet der originale Krokodil-Gitarrist Walty Anselmo seine Freunde als «special guest», im Studio und auf der Bühne. Walty ist vor einigen Jahren an Parkinson erkrankt. Ein festes Engagement in der Band ist ihm nicht mehr möglich. Doch das Krokodil-Blut fliesst immer noch in seinen Adern - he’ still a part of them. Wenn Walty singt, wie im Song „Shadow Blues“ auf dem neuen Album, spürt man, dass seine musikalische Kraft noch lange nicht gebrochen ist.
Auch das neue Krokodil ist kein Projekt, sondern ein eingeschworenes Team. Jedes Mitglied hat sich in den kreativen Prozess eingebracht und geniesst seinen Spot als Leadsänger. Dazu pulsiert und groovt der Backbeat, die Stimmen werden durch den Effekt-Wolf gedreht und immer wieder bricht das Quartett auf seinem psychedelischen Zauberteppich auf zu geheimnisvollen Destinationen. Die Stimmung ist entspannt. Niemand muss hier niemandem etwas beweisen. Eine verspielte Altersmilde weht durch die neuen Songs und auch für Überraschungen, denen wir nicht vorgreifen wollen, ist gesorgt.
Krokodil knüpfen heute dort an, wo sie 1968 starteten: Sie spielen ihre eigene Musik und setzen auf die Kraft des Kollektivs. Wie ihr namengebendes Reptil wächst diese Schweizer Rockband der ersten Stunde auch mehr als 50 Jahre nach ihrer Gründung immer noch. Manchmal wächst sie auch über sich hinaus!

50 years have passed since the release of their classic album "An Invisible World Revealed". Now Krokodil are back with a studio album full of new songs and a refreshed line up. Since 2020 the progressive rock band from Zurich/Switzerland consists of the founding members Düde Dürst (drums), Terry Stevens (bass) and their two new allies Adrian Weyermann (guitar) and Erich Strebel (keyboards). Whenever his health permits, original Krokodil guitarist Walty Anselmo accompanies his friends as a "special guest", in the studio and on stage. Walty was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a few years ago. A permanent engagement in the band is no longer possible for him. But the crocodile blood still flows in his veins - he' still a part of them. When Walty sings (hear him in the “Shadow Blues”) you can feel that his musical power is far from broken.
The new Krokodil is not a project, but a sworn team. Each member has contributed to the creative process and enjoys his spot as lead singer. In addition, the backbeat pulsates and grooves, the voices are turned through the effect machine and the quartet takes off on its psychedelic magic carpet to mysterious destinations. The mood is relaxed. No one has to prove anything to anyone. A playful age mildness blows through the new songs and a few surprises, which we don't want to anticipate, are provided for.
